Hotel Equities and Marriott International are celebrating the opening of a property next to the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, one of the best tennis facilities in the United States.
A new offering under the Marriott International’s Fairfield Inn & Suites brand seems to increase the hospitality scene in Rome, Georgia.
Serves modern accommodation in Rome
Located next to the Roma Tennis Center, the newly opened property will provide work opportunities as well as much-needed accommodation for the surrounding area. Lack of accommodation in the city itself meant that many visitors had previously chosen to stay elsewhere, but now that the Fairfield Inn & Suites Rome has landed, guests are increasingly hoping to decide to stay there locally.
The hotel is managed by the Atlanta-based ownership, management and development company Hotel Equities, which also provided development services throughout the realization of the project. The property is located next to the huge tennis center Rome at Berry College, and Berry College is both the hotel’s owner and developer.
Fairfield Inn & Suites was perhaps the natural choice for Berry College, an academic institution whose values and history align with this well-known hospitality brand. Tradition meets modernity in the carefully curated selection of artwork depicting the history of Berry College, which guests can learn more about by scanning QR codes on their mobile devices.
“It was a pleasure working with Berry College and all involved project partners to complete this new Fairfield,” said Patrick Trainor, VP of Hotel Equities Projects and Facilities. “We were able to maximize the flow and function of all areas, and implemented cost controls and procurement expertise. I am proud to officially open the doors on time and within budget expectations.”
Master the community
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Rome is not only run as a commercial business – it is also meant to help the student community. All of the hotel’s income will go to support student scholarships at Berry College, while the scheme will provide job opportunities for those who study here as well.
Berry College President Steve Briggs said: “The hotel project is in line with the college’s focus on providing special opportunities for students to combine learning and work, while creating new revenue streams that contribute to both our educational mission and Rome’s economic vitality.”
Of course, the biggest attraction of the hotel is its proximity to the legendary Rome Tennis Center, which bears the distinction of being named a United States Tennis Association ‘Outstanding Tennis Facility’. One of the hotel’s highlights is the Baseline Bar, where visitors can follow events on the court while grabbing a quick bite to eat.
