After his incredible triumphs at the Australian Open and French Open earlier this year, Rafael Nadal wants to make history by winning a third major title in a row. Nadal will look to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing Wimbledon in 2022 when he takes on 11th seed Taylor Fritz at Center Court on Wednesday (July 5).

The Spaniard has so far had a flawless race in the competition and looks in incredible shape. The two-time champion won his matches in the first and second rounds against Francisco Cerundolo and Ricardas Berenkis in straight sets. After that, he completed two extensive victories in straight-set against Itlays Lorenzo Sonego and the Dutch star Botic van de Zandschulp.

Fritz has had an incredible race in the tournament and has not yet lost a set. He beat Lorenzo Musetti, Alastair Gray, Alex Molcan and Jason Kubler on their way to the last eight of the world’s oldest Tennis Grand Slam.

Nadal and Fritz have met each other twice before, and both have won a match each. The American had overwhelmed Nadal in this year’s Indian Wells open final by beating him in straight sets with a result line of 6-3, 7-6. Meanwhile, Nadal had beaten Fritz 6-3, 6-2 in the 2020 Mexican Open final.
