Streaming rankings for 6-12. June 2022 – The Hollywood Reporter

The boys rose to second place in Nielsen’s ranking of streaming series by barely moving at all in terms of viewing time.

Stranger Things dominated the ranking for the week 6.-12. June despite a significant drop from the record number, while Ms. Marvel had a relatively quiet debut at Disney + (at least compared to other Marvel series).

The boys drew 919 million minutes of viewing time in the United States on Amazon’s Prime Video – a slight decrease of 3 percent from the week before, when it had 949 million minutes of viewing. With two shows ending a week earlier – The Lincoln Attorneys (683 million minutes) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (682 million) – both fall by about 29 percent, The boys took second place among original streaming series.

Stranger Things was still miles ahead of every other streaming title with a 4.23 billion minute view. Although the Netflix phenomenon was knocked off by more than 40 percent from the record of 7.2 billion minutes last week, the show’s performance from June 6 to 12 still ranks among the top five weeks since Nielsen began releasing weekly streaming totals for 21 months ago.

When it comes to Ms. Marveldebuted it with 249 million minutes of viewing time, the smallest opening for any live-action Marvel series on Disney + so far. Moon Knights, the only other Disney + Marvel show to debut a new character so far, opened at 418 million minutes in March. With a 50-minute drive to the premiere, that means just under 5 million people are watching Ms. Marvel in its opening week.

The CWs All American had another strong week for Netflix, leading the acquired show chart with 1.15 billion minutes of viewing. Friends (433 million) and Big Bang theories (305 million) also stayed in the top 10 for HBO Max.

Nielsen’s current ratings only cover viewing on TVs and do not include minutes viewed on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure US audiences, not those in other countries, and so far only include Apple TV +, Disney +, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix and Prime Video.
