Tournaments that fall the week before often suffer from a weak field, with many top players choosing to turn their focus to the following week. Not so with this year’s Scottish Open with new title sponsor Genesis.

For the 2022 edition of the event, which has been jointly approved by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, almost all of the best players in the game are up and running. It includes betting favorite Jon Rahm, who just missed a playoff at the Scottish Open in 2021.

With Rahm, all three of this year’s big winners are: Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, PGA champion Justin Thomas and freshman US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick.

And do not forget the LIV Golf renegades Ian Poulter and Branden Grace, who are paired together the first two rounds after winning a legal battle to play the event.

Golf Channel and CBS will provide TV coverage of the Genesis Scottish Open and PGA Tour Live on ESPN + and Paramount + will stream the action online.
