The last time the men’s program played in Europe was in 2016 when the Razorbacks traveled to Spain (Madrid, Albacete and Barcelona) to play four games in 10 days. Prior to that, Arkansas played in Italy prior to the 2012-13 season.

For Arkansas, the event serves as part of a much bigger picture as Musselman and the coaching staff will have the opportunity to continue building chemistry and mix and match lineup combinations with a roster that features 11 newcomers ahead of a season that comes with high expectations in Fayetteville.

“It’s kind of our whole family doing this,” Musselman said. “It’s not always how we travel. But yeah, I think when you’re in a hotel room and eating together, you get to know each other. But I think we’ve done a lot of practice before and after practice that we kind of know each other each other quite well.

“It will give us some chemistry. It will give us a different work, going towards different people. We are mapping everything now, so there is no question, whether it is a parent, whether it is someone’s inner circle about how rotations will be played out in November We have a whole body of work, with statistics We have film to share with people if necessary. Then this is just another part of all this too.”

Arkansas is currently in the midst of an NCAA-permitted 10 full practices in the build-up to the trip. The Razorbacks are expected to leave for Spain on Saturday morning with a return flight home on August 16.
