The Palomino Festival in Pasadena is a blissful time, except for mistakes – Pasadena Star News

Thousands of concertgoers showed up early at Goldenvoice’s first Palomino festival in Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday for country music, sunshine and beer.

The beautiful and not too hot weather was perfect for an outdoor party while people walked between the two scenes to check out the early days, including Sierra Ferrell, Langhorne Slim, Nikki Lane and Amethyst Kiah.

After singer-songwriter Morgan Wade impressed with his vocals on “Wilder Days” on the side stage, Texas alt-country artist Paul Cauthen cut a rug when he delivered “Champagne & a Limo” on the Pancho stage.

Blues and country singer Charley Crockett drew a large audience on the side stage when he recorded “Welcome to Hard Times” and tried out a brand new song, “I’m Just a Clown”, which went well.

Between acts, fans took selfies with various staged photo shoots, played garden games like cornhole and bowed through Nikki Lane’s curated Stage Stop Marketplace filled with vintage western goods.

Like many other companies these days, the Palomino festival obviously suffered a few shortcomings, including alcohol.
