In a little over a month, Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma will return Star Wars: Andor. The series will take place between Revenge of the Sith and A new hopebefore the events in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

In preparation for the release of the series next month, here are a handful of Star Wars books you should consider reading before a new chapter in Cassian Andor’s story unfolds.

We know that Cassiian was once a Fulcrum agent, just like another fan favorite character – and she happened to be the one who suggested forming the intelligence network in the first place.

EK Johnstons Ahsoka follows the title character in the wake of The Clone Wars. While hiding from the empire and its inquisitors, Ahsoka eventually seeks help from Bail Organa – another key figure in forming the Rebel Alliance as we know it.

Rebel Rising

Because Andor will focus on Cassian’s life before joining the Rebel Alliance, it is beneficial to also visit the life of another future rebel before joining the cause. Beth Revis’ Rebel Rising shows the state of the galaxy before the galactic civil war, similar to the show.

After the empire separates Jyn Erso from her parents, Saw Garrera takes her in and shows her how to fight for freedom in a galaxy ruled by oppressors. Although she would not join the uprising until many years later, Revis’ novel touches on the different ways different people respond to their desire to make the universe a better and fairer place – and the length some people will go to take down the enemies. sine.

STAR WARS REBELS – “The Lost Commanders” – Ahsoka sends the rebel crew to find and recruit a war hero for their cause, but when they discover that it is Captain Rex, trust problems endanger the mission. Rogue One

In preparation for a show about a rebel spy, what better book to read than the novelization his debut appearance was based on?

Alexander Freeds Rogue One: A Star Wars Story novelization introduces readers to Cassian Andor and provides more background about his character, just in time for the audience to learn more when Andor premieres in August.

James Lucenos Catalyst tells the story of a post-Clone Wars regime before a revolt to counter its anger.

Catalyst focuses on the empire’s secret work to build something extremely deadly. Although not many outsiders are on them yet, a few on the inside – like Galen Erso – can make discoveries that could one day lead to an imperial fall.

Star Wars: Andor premieres August 31 exclusively at Disney +.
