Percy Jackson set photos give a first look at the Disney + series

Percy Jackson and Olympian’s set photos give fans a first look at what Camp Half-Blood will look like in the upcoming Disney + series.

View photos taken from the fifth week of filming Percy Jackson and the Olympians reveal part of Camp Half-Blood.

Written by Percy Jackson Disney + News Twitter Account, the photos reveal the training ground for Camp Half-Blood, which in the novels is a Greek training facility young demigods participate in to train against and stay safe from mythological creatures. The photographer is also said to have seen “a bunch of hobbit-type houses”, which are suspected to be the 12 cabins the half-bloods live in while attending Camp Half-Blood. The photos were taken in Aldergrove, Canada, where the production of the series is currently taking place.

Season 1 av Percy Jackson and the Olympians will consist of eight episodes and will adapt the first book in the series, The lightning thief, which is about the 12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson being accused by the Greek god Zeus of stealing his lightning. The book was previously brought to life in 2010 as a feature film by 20th Century Studios. Filming of the pilot began in June in Vancouver, Canada.

Bring Greek mythology to life

Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan is heavily involved in the Disney + series, and acts as a writer and executive producer on Percy Jackson. The author has consistently given fans weekly updates on the series’ production, including revealing it Percy Jackson will be the first TV series to film on the Industrial Light and Magic’s Vancouver-based Volume stage. The Volume is a high-resolution sound image that mixes physical sets and full LED walls to generate realistic images that were previously used to bring the live-action Star Wars Disney + series to life. However, Riordan stated that “our new Volume scene is an even more groundbreaking version of the virtual environment, making it one of the most advanced production stages in the world.”

Walker Scobell leads the series as the titular demigod with Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Smhadri rounding off the series’ lead roles as Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood respectively. Actors who will make recurring appearances in the series include Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Virginia Kull as Percy’s mother Sally Jackson and Timm Sharp as Percy’s stepfather Gabe.

The series will also feature several characters from Greek mythology. Jason Mantzoukas will repeat himself as the god Dionysus / Mr. D while Glynn Turman and Megan Mullally will appear as Chiron / Mr. Brunner and Alecto / Mrs. Dodds, respectively. While The lightning thief includes appearances from Olympians Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Ares, casting for the Greek gods has not yet been confirmed by Disney, so it is unknown if any of them will appear in the series at this time.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has no release date at the moment, but will stream on Disney +.
