Disney + has just added 17 great movies to its library

Everything from rom-coms to psychological thrillers to war dramas.

Disney recently announced the brand new additions to the Disney + service during July, but this week they also added some old ones. Some are golden, some are definitely not, but here they are all, starting with …

ALOHA

Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, John Krasinski, Rachel McAdams and Bill Murray star in this Hawaii-set space com from the director of Almost Famous. Despite the high pedigree of those involved, it received only 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.

COPYCAT

This serial killer thriller with Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter is still quite entertaining in itself, with the success of The Silence of the Lambs.

EPIC MOVIE

2% on Rotten Tomatoes. Avoid.

HIGH CRIME

When her husband (Jim Cavizel) is accused of horrific war crimes, a lawyer (Ashley Judd) teams up with a former military lawyer (Morgan Freeman) to prove his innocence. An inappropriate but legal thriller.

JUST MY HAPPINESS

Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine star in this room-com-series about a lucky woman and a very unlucky man who magically exchange fortunes, just as they begin to fall in love.

MADE IN AMERICA

Zora (Nia Long) gets her life turned upside down when her mother (Whoopi Goldberg) tells her that her biological father is white, and a used car salesman (Ted Danson).

MEET THE SPARTANS

Also 2% on Rotten Tomatoes. Also avoid.

THE MIRRORS

A remake of a much-loved (and much better) South Korean horror film, with Kiefer Sutherland as a former police officer haunted by visions within, well, mirrors.

DEALER

Samuel L. Jackson is the hostage-taker and becomes a hostage-taker when he is accused of a crime. So they call in another dealer (Kevin Spacey), but how do you negotiate with a dealer? A decent action thriller.

PHENOMEN

After a strange incident, a man (John Travolta) discovers that he has been endowed with some extraordinary powers. But those who know him begin to fear what these changes may bring.

THE PRINCESS

A brand new release from 2022! If you can mix The Raid and Tangled together, then you’re basically there.

RUNAWAY JURY

An impressive all-star cast – Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, Jeremy Piven, Jennifer Beals, Cliff Curtis – is part of this fun John Grisham adaptation.

IMPORTANCE

Accused of a murder he did not commit, a former secret service agent (Michael Douglas) is forced to flee, chased by his prosthesis (Kiefer Sutherland), while also trying to stop a new assassination attempt.

STAY

A psychological thriller with Ryan Gosling, Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor and Bob Hoskins in the lead roles about a psychiatrist who becomes too involved in a patient.

LOVE HOME ALABAMA

Reese Witherspoon leads this silly but very funny rom-com about a woman trying to get hold of her stubborn ex-husband (Josh Lucas).

TIGERLAND

The film that introduced most of Hollywood to Colin Farrell, a very good war drama set against the impending arrival of the Vietnam War.

WILD PIG

Ray Liotta, Tim Allen, William H. Macy and John Travolta play a group of lifelong friends who decide to go on a motorcycle trip through America.
