All Disney-branded movies and series coming to Disney+ in 2023 – What’s happening on Disney Plus

As we head into 2023, let’s take a look at what Disney-branded original content being released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney Junior, Disney Branded Television and other studios will be heading to Disney+ over the course of the year, which includes many interesting new movies and shows such as “American Born Chinese” and “The Haunted Mansion”.

And remember, this is just a list of movies and shows that come under the Disney brand, so it doesn’t include releases by Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, 20th Century Studios, and Star.

Here’s a look at some of the Disney movies and shows coming to Disney+ in 2023:

The Little Mermaid

“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and lively young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel yearns to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and when he visits the surface, he falls for the bubbly Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ends up putting her life – and her father’s crown – in danger.

“The Little Mermaid” hits theaters on May 26, 2023 and will be available on Disney+ later this year.


The Haunted Mansion

Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural occupants. Jamie Lee Curtis also stars as Madame Leota in the film, which hits theaters next year before coming to Disney+


Wish

“Wish” to be released in cinemas in autumn 2023 – Studio’s 100th year. An epic animated musical inspired by the legacy of the studio’s films that asks the question: “How did that wishing star, that so many characters wished for, come to be?” Alan Tudyk and Ariana DeBose star in the film. Peter Del Vecho is producing, and Juan Pablo Reyes is co-producing.


Duffy and friends

Mickey’s favorite teddy bear, Duffy, is a fan favorite at all three Disney resorts in Asia, and during the presentation, D’Amaro shared that Duffy & Friends will star in their own six-episode stop-motion animated series on Disney+ next year.

Duffy is the sweet, lovable teddy bear handmade as a gift for Mickey by his girlfriend Minnie Mouse. Together, Duffy and Mickey travel the world sharing exciting adventures and making lifelong friends, including ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou and CookieAnn.


Peter Pan and Wendy

Directed by David Lowery and produced by Jim Whitaker, the live-action reimagining of the 1953 animated classic will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.

American born Chinese

Based on the genre-bending graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, “American Born Chinese” tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager who juggles high school social life with home life. When he meets a new student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin unwittingly becomes embroiled in a battle between Chinese mythological gods.

This brand new series is coming to Disney+ in 2023


The Ball Pact

It’s the height of prom season, but high school senior Mandy Yang has her sights set on a singular goal: attending Harvard. When she finds out she’s been victimized, she’s determined to do whatever it takes to get herself off the waiting list, even if it means asking the one person who represents everything she loathes – popular all-star jock Graham Lansing, whose father is a powerful senator and Harvard alum. When Mandy becomes Graham’s tutor, she begins to realize that there is more to him than she thought, and perhaps something more to life than Harvard as well. When Graham’s father offers to recommend Mandy to Harvard, will she choose to make this promise, even if it comes at the expense of what she stands for?

Iwaju

Coming to Disney+ in 2023 is “Iwajú,” a brand new original long-form series created in collaboration with pan-African cartoon entertainment company Kugali. The coming-of-age story introduces Tola, a young heiress from the wealthy island, and her best friend Kole, a self-taught tech expert and loving son from the mainland.

Chang Can Dunk

“Chang Can Dunk” follows Chang, a 16-year-old Asian-American high school marching band student, who bets the high school basketball star that he can dunk at Homecoming. The bet leads the 5′ 8″ Chang on a quest to find the hop he needs to bang to impress his crush, Kristy, and ultimately gain the attention and respect of his high school peers. But before he can stand up and truly throw one down, he must reexamine everything he knows about himself, his friendships, and his family.

Crater

Crater is an upcoming American coming-of-age science fiction adventure film directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez from a screenplay by John Griffin. The film will be a coming-of-age story along the lines of “Stand By Me,” which will be set in a lunar colony. After the death of his father, a boy growing up on a lunar mining colony takes a trip to explore a mysterious crater with his four best friends before being permanently relocated to another planet.

“Crater” comes exclusively to Disney+ in 2023


Muppets Mayhem

The comedy series follows The Electric Mayhem Band – Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on sax and Lips on trumpet – on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music director, Nora, the old Muppet band comes face to face with today’s music scene as they try to finally go platinum.

In the wake of surfing’s Olympic debut in Tokyo, Chasing Waves shines a spotlight on the people and places that define Japan’s reach in global surfing culture. This character-driven documentary series follows multicultural athletes in pursuit of their dreams, paints a captivating picture of Japanese life and showcases what it takes to succeed in the international surfing industry.

The Proud Family – Louder & Prouder – Season 2

“The Proud Family” revival picks up the story of its central character, Penny Proud, and her iconic family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!). By Penny’s side are her loyal crew: Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez, Zoey Howzer, Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins and Michael Collins.

The second season of “The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder” arrives on Disney+ on February 1, 2023.


Super kitties

Set in the town of Kittydale, each “SuperKitties” episode features two 11-minute stories when the four kitties, snuggled up in the Purr ‘N’ Play playground or out playing around town, receive a “SuperKitty Call” from one of the animals their. friends with a problem that only SuperKitties can help with, usually caused by one of the comic villains of the series: Cat Burglar, Mr. Puppypaws, Lab Rat or Zsa-Zsa. With tons of superpowers and gadgets at their disposal, the SuperKitties set out to thwart the villains’ plans and deliver important messages along the way.

Pupstruction

“Pupstruction,” follows the adventures of the world’s first construction company, Pupstruction. It centers on Phinny, an innovative young corgi, who may be the smallest pup in the crew, but proves that you don’t need big paws to have big dreams or big ideas.

Hailey is on!

“Hailey’s on it!” follows Hailey Banks, a risk-averse but resourceful teenager on a mission to complete every item on her long list of challenging (and sometimes impractical) tasks to save the world. National Treasure: Edge Of History
