Spotify ‘sound quality download options missing’ for some iOS users
New updates are added at the bottom of this story …
The original story (published June 24, 2022) follows:
Although Spotify continues to dominate the music streaming service’s niche with more than 31% of its total market share in 2021, its closest rival, Apple Music continues to grow at an impressive pace.
That said, in recent weeks, users have encountered bugs and errors like the Windows app crashing during login and playback and Google Assistant not being able to play specific songs.
This causes a lot of frustration since the error prevents them from downloading music in their preferred sound quality.
Reinstalling the app does not seem to help either. You can see in the picture below what the options look like for those affected.
@SpotifyCares Hi, so my Spotify app has a problem. The option for different download quality does not appear after the last update 😅
I deleted and downloaded the Spotify app again last night, when I downloaded the app again I noticed that text was missing under the “download” section for audio quality and the video quality section. Anyone else who has had this problem and is there a solution to this, or will this be addressed in an update?
As it turns out, Spotify developers are aware of the problem of lack of sound quality options for download on iOS and are working on a solution. But there is no time frame for when it will be available.
Hi, we are aware of an issue where sound quality download options are not present on iOS mobile devices. Our technical team is working on a solution while we talk. Leave your voice in this thread if you experience the same issue and post if you experience it on Spotify version 8.7.42. We keep you updated, and all you need to do in the meantime is make sure you are running the latest version of the app so that you do not miss the solution. Cheers!
We hope the developers soon find out the cause of the problem, as many are unable to download music in their preferred quality.
As always, we will keep an eye out for more information and update this space once the issue is resolved, so make sure you keep an eye on PiunikaWeb.
