ICSE Class 10th Computer Applications Syllabus 2023: Computer Applications is one of the most popular subjects in ICSE Class 10. ICSE Board Class 10 Computer Applications Syllabus

ICSE Class 10 Computer Applications will have a paper of two hours duration, carrying 100 marks along with an internal assessment of 100 marks. The written assignment will be divided into two parts. Part A (compulsory) of 40 marks will consist of short answer questions, while Part B of 60 marks will consist of descriptive type questions.

THEORY – 100 Marks

Objects and classes

Objects encapsulate state and behavior – many examples; member variables; attributes or functions. Variables define state; member methods; Operations/methods/messages/methods define behavior.

Classes as abstractions for sets of objects; class as an item factory; primitive data types, composite data types. Variable declarations for both types; the difference between the two types. Objects as instances of a class.

Introduction to wrapper classes, wrapper class methods and their use with respect to numeric and character data types. Autoboxing and Unboxing in wrapper classes.

Class as a composite type, distinguish between primitive data type and composite data type or class types. Class can be considered as a new data type created by the user, which has its own functionality. The distinction between primitive and composite types should be discussed through examples.
