Summer is in full swing in Windsor Essex, and now it’s time to take advantage of all the festivals, open streets and night markets that take place throughout the county! Don’t let summer pass you by by sitting on the couch! Get out and enjoy a ride on Ferris wheels, an ice-cold drink on the summer night’s terrace or browse for unique gifts. No matter the speed, there is something for everyone!

The 25th Annual Belle River Sunsplash goes July 14-17 in Lakeview Park with live music and entertainment, Belle River Brewhouse Beer Garden, carnival, fishing village, and of course a parade! Head to beautiful Belle River on the Lake for food, fun and sunshine!

The CAN-AM police fire game is a two-year multisport event taking place in North America. This year, Windsor is hosting the Games July 26-31, and YOU can compete with the first to respond to multiple events or cheer them on at events open to the public such as FireFit on Saturday, July at the Riverfront Festival Plaza. The Opening ceremonies takes place on Tuesday 26 Julyth and is FREE and open to the public and will take place at Riverfront Festival Plaza with live music from Simply Queen and Leave These Kids Alone, a cultural food and beverage experience and FREE fireworks!

Hogs for Hospice rolls into Leamington July 29-31 for 3 days of horseback riding, entertainment and fun! The Cult will perform at Seacliff Park Amphitheater on Friday 29. Julyth and Brett Young take to the stage on Saturday, July 20thth for an evening of country music.

Join the community to celebrate Windsor Essex Pride Fest August 3rd to 7th at Lanspeary Park on Ottawa Street. Do not miss the parade on Sunday at 11 a.m. along Ottawa Street plus Pridefest Marketplace Saturday and Sunday and Queens of Pride Saturday night!

Take the family to Walkerville for two days of wonder at Shrub on the block Friday 5. Augustth and Saturday, August 6thth. Roads will be closed to traffic and each performance day will end with a Busk After Dark group show.

A warm summer evening is the perfect time to stroll the streets and sip a patio. Take advantage of closed streets and extended terraces with some of our ‘open street’ events, including:

  • Amherstburg ‘s Outdoor weekends takes place every Friday from kl. 15.00 to Sunday evening. The streets of Downtown Amherstburg are open to visitors with outdoor patios, cafes and sidewalk shops.
  • The Town of Kingsville joins the fun Kingsville open streets Saturdays from 16.00 to 22.30 2 Julynd to September 3rdrd. Part of the main and division streets will be closed so that terraces can be extended in the streets. Free concerts and family activities will take place every week.

Night markets continue in Walkerville, LaSalle and Leamington:

  • check out Walkerville Distillery District Night Markett the last Friday in July and August. The night market is located in front of the Walkerville Brewery and brings people together to celebrate art, entertainment, food, drinks and everything that is local.
  • LaSalle night markets held on the last Sunday of each month through September 25thth. Vendors have skilled local artisans and artisans, local produce from farm to table and delicious food.
  • The Mill St. Market is especially curated for serving delicious street food and drink while shopping for handmade arts and crafts along the modern, reinvented Mill Street in Leamington. With live music, you have never experienced a night market like this! Join the Uptown Leamington Experience on Friday the 19th. Augustth from 5pm to 10pm!
