I really dislike this new trend of turning main story content into movies. Screws over the international audience who have to wait months or a year for the release, and smaller countries where it does not even go to the cinema at all.

Good luck to everyone who has to wait a year after release while avoiding spoilers all the time!

It sucks, but in this case, another movie is the right conversation. This bow was split when it came out weekly, but overall it is a very good bow. It would probably have its problems as an episodic release, but it will work well as a film.

Really glad they stuck with a movie, this arc is much better shown in its entirety than in episodes

I kind of thought they would adapt this arc, especially after season 3 and it’s over. Too bad it will take a while before we can see it.

(I wonder if this kills a chance for season 4).

I swear, Mugen Train ruined it for everyone by popularizing making anime movies in the middle of TV adaptations. That, and the fact that it’s going to take up to 8 months to see the movie after the original Japanese release date somewhere else.

It does not matter if the better option is a movie, as it is very likely that it will also get a re-appearance for TV as two Dragon Ball Super movies and Mugen Train.

It is very likely that the TV reduction they will make from this “movie” is season 4.

So are we still getting a fourth season, or is this movie the sequel that was announced a few weeks ago?

Yes, I’m not a big fan of this trend of turning canon stories into movies

I would assume that it is related to the decline in record sales. Movies, like home media, can bring in money that streaming and television never do. You have to make money somehow.

Add me to the list of people who are tired of this trend of canon movie sequels of TV series. Having to wait a year + and avoid spoilers for what will be 90 minutes of content give or take is not quite my definition of building hype

The worst thing is probably that Mugen Train was not even a particularly good film. That part of the story hardly worked better as a film in terms of tempo, but both as a story arc and as an action show, it was hardly worth the ticket price.

Damn, I was hoping for another season. Hopefully the film does at least well enough to get at least a fourth if not more seasons to follow.

I think there’s a pretty good chance we’ll get this movie on a streaming service pretty soon after the release of JP.

Want it? Look at the team in the abyss, they did not cut it for TV.

But yes, sorry about those movies with plots, even if in this case it’s comedy and you can not miss a season of content, and it does not change much.
