Over time, more and more creators have started to make the main character of the series more friendly. There’s no shortage of lovable characters in the anime world, but in this list we’re going to go over the characters that stand out from the rest.

7/7 Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)

Naruto is the main character in Masashi Kishimoto’s series. As a child, Naruto was ostracized by the villagers as they considered him the embodiment of the Nine-Tails. Normally, a person who is treated so roughly by all the people around him ends up being evil.

However, Naruto never gave up and he stayed focused on his goal of becoming Hokage. Naruto is a very friendly character who does not believe in archaic societal norms. Not only was he kind to his friends, but he also tried to reason with his enemies, as he believed that violence was not the way to solve things.

6/7 Gon (Hunter x Hunter)

Gon is a very popular anime character and he is the main role in Hunter x hunter. Gon grew up on an island where he had absolutely no friends. When he went out to participate in the Hunter Exams, Gon was able to form friendships with Kurapika, Killua, and Leorio.

Gon’s open mind made it easy for him to befriend almost anyone. Gon is also very protective of his friends and if anyone tried to harm them, he would chase them to the ends of the earth.

5/7 Midoriya (My Hero Academia)

Midoriya is among the hardest working anime characters. He was born without any Quirk which ended his dream of becoming a Pro Hero like All Might. However, he didn’t let his powerlessness bother him too much, and he continued to dream that he too would one day become a hero.

As a character who knows how it feels to be helpless, Midoriya is very kind to people who are weaker than him. The best thing about him is that he doesn’t consider villains to be monsters; instead, he always tries to save them if possible. Midoriya’s smile and kind demeanor make it easy for him to befriend other people.

4/7 Tanjiro (Demon Slayer)

Tanjiro is easily one of the kindest anime characters. One might think that losing his entire family to demons would make him hostile, but Tanjiro has remained the same. He lovingly carries his young sister on his back, and together they have taken down many powerful demons.

Despite the grief the demons have caused him, Tanjiro still shows respect for them after they die. In addition to his other brilliant qualities, Tanjiro is also very funny, and many of his memorable moments involve him doing something stupid.

3/7 Puck (berserk)

Puck was the first person to join Guts’ party. He is a benevolent elf who cannot bear to see anyone in pain. Puck’s kindness has been very important to Guts’ growth as a character. After the eclipse, Guts cut himself off from the rest of the world, and he had become a heartless individual, who only cared about killing apostles.

At first, Puck’s cheerfulness didn’t seem to have any kind of effect, but as the story progressed, it became very noticeable that Guts was changing. Due to his gentle demeanor, Puck has no trouble making friends, and needless to say, he is the life of the Black Swordsman Party.

2/7 Goku (Dragon Ball)

Goku is arguably the most popular anime character in the world. He is an incredibly strong fighter who is always looking for his next challenge. A well-built character like Goku is usually expected to be serious all the time, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Throughout the series, Goku has shown affection towards his friends as well as enemies, and his display of kindness has often been criticized by others as it has gotten him into trouble several times.

1/7 Luffy (One Piece)

Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist of the best-selling manga series, One Piece. Luffy aims to become the Pirate King, a title that is highly sought after. Despite his lofty ambitions, Luffy still finds time to act like a jerk. He is very friendly with his crew members and often they have to beat him to stop him from doing something reckless.

According to Dracule Mihawk, Luffy has the ability to turn people to his side, and he considers it the strongest ability in the world. Luffy is very easy to be friends with, which is why everyone who comes into contact with him is fascinated by his kindness. Luffy is fascinated by all the different races that exist within One Piece world, and he goes out of his way to get them to join the crew, as shown when he insisted that Brook join the Straw Hats despite the protests of the other members.
