Last weekend, the Anime Expo, the “biggest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America,” featured a treasure trove of announcements and trailers to saturate the otaku … at least until next year’s event.

In case you missed all the fuss about getting out of Anime Expo, here’s an overview of all the convention’s most important announcements.

On Saturday, VIZ Media unveiled a new trailer for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Bleach follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student who became a shinigami who hunts demonic creatures named Hollows along with a troop of other shinigami from the Soul Society.

The trailer features Stern Riders, a group of long-forgotten Quincy, as they battle the series’ favorites Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai in stylish action sequences.

According to Anime News Network, series creator Tite Kubo will work closely with the production of the anime’s last season. During a video message, Kubo told fans that the final season will feature a “modern contemporary coloring” from Studio Pierrot, adding that he is working on omitting manga scenes that were re-added to the anime upon release.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will premiere in October.

Studio Orange unveiled the first trailer for Trigun Stampede. Trigun, originally aired in 1998 under Studio Madhouse, follows the stories of a legendary gunman named Vash the Stampede. While the new anime trailer featured fantastic CG-animated action sequences, its new fluffier character design for Vash has been divisive among fans. Hopefully, the gun-loving pacifist will still have his iconic scars in the new anime.

Design options aside, Trigun Stampede will be directed by Kenji Muto by The land of the shining fame. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, the Japanese voice actor for Inosuke Hashibara in Demon butcher will express Vash. So far, the English cast has not been announced.

The announcement that blew every other anime news out of the water this weekend was Studio Trigger’s announcement of a new anime for Pantyhose and stocking with garters. The anime follows the two titular angels as they battle a series of demons to win and return to heaven.

News about a new one Panties and stockings the project was teased all the way back in 2016 by Gainax West’s official Twitter account with the added message that it would have nothing to do with pachinko. That news turned out to be a new exhibition for the series, according to Anime News Network.

Warner Bros. Japan showcased new key art and the new opening theme for Mob Psycho 100 the fourth of July no less.

This growing anime follows a meek middle school boy named Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama with god-like psychic powers. With the help of his role model for scammers, Reigen Arataka, the Mob pursues a normal life while dealing with the dangers of his emotionally activated psychic powers.

Mob Psycho 100 season three premieres on Crunchyroll in October.

On Sunday, Crunchyroll announced an anime adaptation of the popular fantasy manhwa, Solo leveling. After a mysterious gate that connects humanity with the world of monsters, people called Hunter develop superhuman abilities to kill any animal that slips into our world. Sung Jin-Woo, a middle school boy, is seen as the world’s weakest hunter until he is revived from a life-threatening injury only to find a search log with increasingly frightening challenges with the promise of becoming a strong enough hunter to pay for his mother’s hospital bills.

Solo leveling is scheduled for release on Crunchyroll in 2023.

Warner Brothers Japan revealed a first look at the new season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. The Stone Sea follows Jolyne Cujoh, daughter of the series’ main character Jotaro Kujo, as she and her newfound friends plan to escape the bizarre Stand-using Florida men in the Green Dolphin Street Prison.

The new trailer teased some of the scary world-bending villains Jolyne and the crew will fight and gave plenty of screen time to the crew’s newest ally Narciso Anasui.

Part two of… part six of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean premieres on Netflix on September 1st.

Although Mappa did not show a new trailer for the highly anticipated Chainsaw Man anime, we got some new information about the production of the series.

According to Dual shockers, Mappa employees revealed that the anime will not censor any of the ball-to-wall violence from the manga under the Anime Expo panel. In addition, the Mappa staff shared that the anime will have its own exclusive fight scenes. Although the news left some pious CSM readers feel left out in the coldknowing that the lightning-fast series will get new combat sequences from Mappa, the anime studio that has raised the standard for quality animation adaptation, is enough to satisfy my otaku soul.

In addition to the anime premiere sometime later this year on Crunchyroll, part two of the manga is scheduled for release on July 13 on Jump +.

Outside popular Twitch streams and cabinets otaku Hasan “Hasanabi” Piker ask people to watch more anime and event alarmingly high C02 levels in the crowded auditorium, these are the biggest revelations coming out of this year’s Anime Expo. Hopefully, the covid security protocols, which the traitor dropped and later revised a month before the event, were enough to protect anime fans who were present this weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
