Bocchi the Rock Manga author draws PA-san for Anime episode 9

Bocchi the Rock manga writer, Aki Hamaji, posted an illustration of PA-san for the anime’s 9th episode on Saturday. The anime airs every Saturday in Japan, with studio CloverWorks animating the adaptation. The manga creator drew Hitori Goto (Bocchi) for the previous, eighth episode.

The visual post came with a caption “Episode 10 will air soon, but thanks for Episode 9!“. The illustration shows PA-san, the PA engineer for the music club STARRY, in her iconic outfit, wearing black clothes with accessories such as a black choker and piercings. Near her face, you can see a text, her line, that says “I’m not particularly involved in the ninth episode…“. The author’s gratitude is written on the photo as well: “Thanks for Bocchi the Rock! Episode 9!“.

Aki Hamaji has drawn Bocchi the Rock 4-koma manga in Hobunsha’s monthly magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. The series released the fifth compiled volume on November 26, 2022. The anime has been airing since October 8.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime this season and describes the plot as:
Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan,” is a girl who is so introverted and shy around people that she would always start conversations with “Ah…” During her middle school years, she started playing the guitar, and wanted to join a band because she thought it might be an opportunity for even someone shy like her to also shine. But because she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself. After becoming an accomplished guitarist, she uploaded videos of herself playing guitar to the internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and fantasized about performing at the school’s cultural festival concert. But not only was she unable to find any bandmates, before she knew it she was in high school and still couldn’t make a single friend! She was really close to becoming a shut-in, but one day Nijika Ijichi, the drummer of the Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of that, her everyday life began to change little by little…
