Anime in the spring of 2022 that needs follow-up seasons

Every year, the spring season’s anime is filled with interesting shows that spice up the anime world differently. Some titles are “slice-of-life”-oriented, others fantasy-based with an Isekai undertone, and some occasionally dive into the world of sports, all allowing fans to choose from a variety of interesting options.

The spring 2022 anime is no different. Each title offers a different experience for both fans and viewers. Dozens of shows have been released this year, and of these fantastic titles, some stand out because of the action, the story and the entertainment value. Unfortunately, with most of these programs nearing the end, fans are facing long periods of waiting before getting the sequel to their favorite series. Regardless, if most people were to choose the anime from the spring season 2022 that needs quick sequels, some iconic titles stand out.

9 Ao Ashi

Ao Ashi is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Naohiko Ueno and Yuugo Kobayashi, respectively. This anime added the sports-oriented spice to the anime mix in the spring of 2022. The anime follows the story of Aoshito Ao, a boy with a poor background, who loves football. Ao Ashito lives in Ehime with his mother and older brother, and life is relatively happy until he meets Tatsuya Furuda – a coach for the J Youth League.

Tatsuya arouses a burning desire in Ashito to play football internationally, and after a touching family saga, his mother agrees that he is going to Tokyo. After joining the team, Ashito discovers that his football skills are gross and unpolished. Still, he refuses to give up, willing to learn football from scratch if that’s what it takes to succeed.

The manga series of Ao Ashi has about 20 volumes. Therefore, if the season does not catch up with the manga, a sequel must be planned as soon as possible after the fantastic arc of history.

8 Komi can not communicate

Komi can not communicate is an anime that does the title justice. The slice-of-life anime is about a middle school student, Shoko Komi, an incredibly shy girl who finds it difficult to communicate with the people around her. Ironically, she is revered as the class goddess even though she is just a socially anxious individual with no friends. Fortunately for her, this began to change after she met Hitohito Tadano, who succeeded in becoming her first friend. After years of living in seclusion, things are about to change for Komi as Tadano helps her make new friends.

With that in mind, another epic sequel to this unique part of life will be received with delight by anime fans.

7 The executioner and her way of life

The executioner and her way of life is among 2022’s underrated titles despite the fantastic themes the title has. The anime follows an anti-hero protagonist, Menou, who works for the church as an assassin underdog with the duty to eliminate other wolders to prevent disasters from happening. What starts as a similar Isekai anime with the misleading appearance of a male character, quickly turns into a female fantasy story with a unique main character.

The executioner and her way of lifeis based on the light novel series of the same name, which currently has four volumes. As the first season of the fantasy anime is soon over, fans can only wish that the next season will be on the internet as soon as possible.

6 The Rising Of The Shield Hero

The Rising of the Shield Hero is based on light novels written by Aneko Yusgai. While the anime has adapted a good deal of the source material, the story is nowhere near the end of the novel. The Rising of the Shield Hero is an Isekai fantasy story starring Naofumi Iwatani, who is summoned to another world as a cardinal hero to fight a vicious phenomenon referred to as the waves.

While season one was pretty straightforward, the second season is filled with twists and new developments that differ significantly from what the fans experienced in the first. Many fans appreciated this development, and some did not. In any case, since the second season ends on June 22, a well-deserved sequel will be greatly appreciated.

Shikimori is not just a sweetheart is the perfect slice-of-life show to check out among the 2022 spring anime. This rom-com series presents a unique but adorable relationship between Shikimori and Izumi. 3 Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – Ultra Romantic

The classic rom-com series, Love is war, contains the match between Kaguya and Miyuki. A cruel question the series is left with is, “who will confess their love first – Miyuki or Kaguya?” Although there is no clear question for this answer yet, the third season of the series spice up the romantic drama even more.

The manga is nowhere near ending, as it has 266 chapters and is still in progress. As such, fans can probably expect another satisfying sequel after the end of the third season.

2 Ya Boy Kongming!

Ya Boy Kongming! gives absolutely another spice to the standard slice-of-life formula, which it blends with low Isekai undertones. Kongming, the main character in the series, was a war strategist, compared to the Chinese war genius Sun Tzu who wrote The art of war. On his deathbed after living a life of war and bloody battles, Kongming wanted to be reborn in a time of peace.

Fortunately, he got exactly what he wanted, when he is reincarnated into a modern Tokyo, where he meets new experiences. Using his brilliant skills as a strategist, Kongming paves the way for the new world he finds himself in. Like the first season of Ya Boy Kongming! has officially ended, fans many anime fans long for a sequel to this unique Chinese-inspired anime.

1 Spy x Family

Undoubtedly, Spy x Family has the crown as the best anime in the spring season 2022. The anime follows the Forger family, which consists of an expert spy agent, a mind-reading child and a dangerous assassin. The funny anime is packed with the different drama around each family member and how it is solved in its own way. While Forgers’ mind-reading child, Anya, is aware of everyone’s secrets, the trio still manages to bond with each other as an ideal family, which is quite far from their reality.

Spy x Family is based on the award-winning manga series and is animated by a combined effort between Wit Studio and CloverWorks. With one episode left to complete the series’ first season, fans can only hope that the anime’s second season is available as soon as possible.
